February 2026 Update

What’s New?

Improved Search Experience with AI

Our new AI-powered search assistant is now active on the Ballicom website in beta form. Its purpose is simple: help customers find the right product information faster, especially when part numbers are unclear or when users only know broad requirements.

The assistant can support with:

  • – Locating items based on incomplete search terms
  • – Providing quick information about the products Ballicom supplies
  • – Helping guide users to the correct category or range
  • – Reducing time spent scrolling through large result sets

We will continue to refine the assistant over the next few weeks as we monitor its performance. Your feedback is welcome while we improve the accuracy of results and expand the knowledge base behind it.

Flexible Procurement Through Device Rentals

Many organisations are now looking for alternatives to large upfront capital expenditure, especially when managing temporary staff, short-term projects or seasonal demand. Through our partnership with Topi, Ballicom offers flexible monthly rentals on selected laptops and devices.

Customers benefit from:

  • – Lower upfront cost
  • – Predictable monthly payments
  • – Devices ready to use out of the box
  • – The ability to decide at the end of the term whether to return, extend or purchase

This gives IT and finance teams more flexibility when planning refresh cycles or scaling teams quickly.

Important Update

Supply constraints across the industry

Multiple manufacturers, including HPE, Lenovo and Microsoft, have issued updates confirming significant supply constraints across core components such as DRAM, NAND, SSD technologies, networking silicon, and optical components.

Major vendors formally announced that:

  • – Global IT supply chains are under pressure due to AI-driven demand
  • – Delivery times and pricing may fluctuate across compute, storage and networking
  • – Separate quotes may now be required for compute and block storage
  • – Orders can be cancelled up until shipment to provide maximum flexibility

Customer Success

Basingstoke College of Technology

We recently completed a project with Basingstoke College of Technology to support a refresh of their CAD and technical workstations. The college needed reliable systems capable of running demanding 3D and design applications without disruption to lessons.

Ballicom added value by:

  • Shortlisting options based on real performance needs rather than vendor preference
  • – Providing clear comparisons between configurations
  • – Supporting classroom layout, warranty planning and room readiness
  • – Delivering pre-built systems within the required teaching window

This project reflects how we help organisations select the right devices without overcommitting on cost or compromising performance.
