The HPE C-series SN8500C Director Switch provide up to 24 terabits per second (Tb/s) of Fibre Channel (FC) system bandwidth and 384 (8 slots) or 192 (4 slots) 4/8/16/32 Gb/s, 10 Gb/s full line rate FC ports or 384 (8 slots) or 192 (4 slots) 10 GbE FCoE ports in a single chassis. Existing 16 Gbps customers can transparently move to 32 Gbps speeds without the need for a major equipment upgrade as the 48-port 32 Gbps Fibre Channel Switching module can easily be inserted into existing HPE C-series SN8500C Directors.

The HPE C-series SN8500C Director Switch enables seamless deployment of unified fabrics while delivering high-performance Fibre Channel connectivity, which achieves low total cost of ownership (TCO). Provides support for 16/32 Gb/s Fibre Channel and 1.5 Tb/s throughput per slot. Provides a 16/32 Gb/s line-rate, non-blocking, with predictable performance across all traffic conditions for every port in the chassis. Delivers full-duplex aggregate performance of 1536 Gbps, making it well suited for high-speed 32 Gbps storage subsystems, 32 Gbps Inter-Switch Links (ISLs), high-performance virtualized servers, and all-flash and NVMe arrays. Supports 10 GbE FCoE for unified storage and data networking.

High Availability

The HPE C-series SN8500C Director Switch offers fully redundant components, including fabric cards, supervisors, and power supplies. The HPE C-series SN8500C Director Switch provides grid redundancy on the power supply and 1+1 redundant supervisors. With the HPE C-series SN8500C Director Switch, users can add additional Fabric-1 Crossbar switching modules to enable N+1 fabric redundancy with no loss of performance.
