The HPE 3100 EI Switch Series enhances security by providing reliable fully managed Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switches ideal for the access layer of medium and large enterprises.
Series includes 8-, 16-, 24- and 48-port models with Gigabit Ethernet uplinks with a 24-port PoE model for support of IP phones, wireless APs and video cameras.
Hardware-based wire speed access control lists (ACLs) help provide high levels of security and ease of administration without impacting network performance with a feature-rich TCAM-based ACL implementation.
External redundant power supply provides improved reliability.
Enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) and Service Control
The HPE 3100 EI Switch Series provides traffic prioritization with supported congestion actions including strict priority (SP), weighted round robin (WRR), SP+WRR and HQ+WRR queuing.
Broadcast control cuts down on unwanted network broadcast traffic. Advanced QoS classifies traffic using multiple match criteria based on Layer 2, 3, and 4 information and applies QoS policies such as setting priority level and rate limit to selected traffic on a per-port or per-VLAN basis.
Multiple user authentication methods include MAC Authentication, IEEE 802.1X and Web for greater, policy-driven security.
Enhanced security features include port isolation, STP BPDU port protection and root guard. Radius/HWTACAS eases switch management security administration by using a password authentication server.
